What about accommodation?
Two options:
  • Residential camping in SWA (inflatable mattress and sleeping bags are provided#). This will be in a block of dorm roomswith sinks and a toilet in each, floors allocated to a specific gender with one staff room. This option is limited to a maximum of 80 people.
  • Local 3* accommodation. There are 3 options within 1.5km of SWA that are recommended and need to be booked independently.

When deciding the most suitable option, consider this teacher adjudicator feedback from last year:
"When we arrived in Jakarta my students would have chosen to sleep in a hotel if I'd given them a choice. But by the end of the residential camping experience I know that they would all choose the camp over the hotel! The evenings were a pleasure spending time playing games and making conversation with students from their school and from other schools. They competed together and relaxed together. It felt like a complete experience where everyone, staff included, were all in it together."

#Following the success last year, this is a CAS initiative in conjunction with SWA. All participants and adjudicators alike will receive them in their welcome pack to use during the residential camp. They are then welcome to donate them to be shared with the Indonesian Red Cross Society for distribution in Disaster stricken areas.

What do participants get?
Lots of intangible rewards! And also...

An attainment transcript containing the percentile ranks in each round and skill attribute, as well as a descriptor of their demonstrated strengths.
Medals are awarded to the better performing participants in each of the 6 skills categories.
